YouTube TV scores a touchdown with custom multiview setups and a way to monitor fantasy rosters
The next NFL season officially starts on September 5, 2024, and ahead of the launch date, YouTube TV has unveiled several new features aimed primarily at the American football audience.
NFL Sunday Ticket subscribers are given the opportunity to create their own multiview setup, meaning you are not forced to choose a ready-made combination.
YouTube says users can tune into two, three, or four Sunday Ticket games at once. Subscribers can use their multiview setup “on mobile and tablets in addition to TVs,” so they never have to worry about missing a killer play. Basic plan members, however, will have to make do with seeking out multiview streams of NFL games airing on locally selected stations.

Next, fantasy football players will be able to connect their Yahoo Fantasy account to YouTube TV through the platform’s Fantasy View feature. The announcement states that to connect their account, users will need to go to the “Sports” tab in the app’s account settings menu on their smartphone.
Once everything is set up, you’ll see a new Fantasy tab on YouTube TV’s Scores & Stats page. This tab will show your team’s players, scores, opponent’s lineup, and more.
Additionally, several improvements are planned for Fantasy View, and Sunday Ticket subscribers have even more to look forward to, as they will get exclusive access to the feature on tablets and web browsers later in the season.
Additionally, fantasy football players will be able to see “key plays and multiview combinations tailored to their lineups” in a future update.
New design
In March, YouTube introduced a new two-column layout for its video player. Viewers can watch a video on the left and read the comments section or channel description on the right. The same design is now being rolled out for sports content, but instead of commentary, you’ll see live stats, scores from other games, key plays, and information about your fantasy football team’s lineup.
Other notable features of the patch include a spoiler mode to hide final results, “advanced playback controls” like “Broadcast Delay” to “reduce live spoilers,” and a shortcut called “Skip to Last Channel” that lets you jump between channels so you don’t miss the action.
It’s unknown when exactly the update will arrive, other than that it will arrive sometime in the fall. We’ve asked for more information on this and will update this story if we receive a response.
