A domestic cat named Binu has gone viral on social media after his owner shared a video of him enjoying his life to the fullest without having to work for it, sparking envy among some viewers.
The viral post, shared on Instagram in July under the username choibinuu, shows a series of clips of Binu stretching his body on his owner’s bed, clearly living many people’s dream life by not having to work a single day.
“Most days I wish I was a cat. No work, just meow, meow,” reads a caption on the video.
If you are a cat owner, you have probably seen your cat nap several times a day. In fact, cats love to sleep and spend most of their day sleeping.
Cat health experts at the website Catster say that healthy adult cats sleep on average between 12 and 16 hours a day. Kittens can sleep over 20 hours in a single day.
“The number of hours they sleep will increase again as they begin to reach their senior years. Older cats tend to sleep more and move less, especially as they begin to lose mobility and experience other age-related health problems,” the website states.
Although cats are naturally prone to sleeping a lot, your cat may sleep too much. This can be caused by factors such as boredom and understimulation. That’s why it’s important that cats get plenty of exercise and stimulation every day.
The video quickly went viral on social media, garnering over 18.8 million views and more than 1.4 million likes on the platform.
