“I would faint,” people scream as the bride reveals wedding rules her guests HATED and they wonder how she can even have friends

A bride shocked people when she shared her list of strict wedding rules – which her guests reportedly “hated”.

As your big wedding day approaches, you naturally want everything to go as smoothly as possible. That’s why one bride from New York (USA) has put together a long list of do’s and don’ts.

But unfortunately for Ivy, who goes by @ivy.eventideas on TikTok, the rules were not well received by her friends and family who attended the big day – they were said to “hate” her.

One of the “controversial” rules that invitees had to follow was not to bother the DJ with song requests – if your favorite hit wasn’t on the playlist, you just had to wait until you were in the car to play it loudly.

In fact, the bride was so keen on having minimal music played at the venue that she was willing to send her guests to the local club if they were keen to dance to other hits.

No wedding is complete without selfies and snapshots – but Ivy reportedly told her photographer not to take photos of the guests.

“I did not pay $10,000 for any portraits,” the bride explained in the video her reasons for the controversial decision.

Planning a wedding is as stressful as it is expensive – which is why the event organizer immediately rejected the idea of bringing companions.

Ivy countered, “I don’t stress and pay for strangers I’ve never met.”

Even those who made it to the wedding had to abstain from alcohol that day because the bride wanted to make sure that everyone really remembered this special occasion.

But it seemed like it wasn’t just the contestants who “hated” the controversial list – hundreds of social media users were less than impressed.

An incredible 2,000 people left comments sharing their opinions on the viral video, which received over 700,000 views in just one day.

I got married for under £400 – people say I look ‘gorgeous’ in my £20 dress and my husband bought his ring for £14 from Asos

Several pointed out the lack of logic, with one saying, “Your guests can’t have a beautiful photo as a souvenir of your wedding, but not alcohol as a souvenir of your wedding.”

One pro agreed, adding, “For me as a wedding photographer, I think it’s cute when people ask for photos with their significant other. You get cute photos of your guests looking great and it literally only takes 2 seconds.”

Someone else chimed in: “I mean, a private ceremony would have been fine too.”

“You don’t need a big party if you don’t even like your guests.”

“I think I’ll skip the wedding,” joked a fourth.

Are wedding rules right or wrong?

By Josie Griffiths, Deputy Editor of Fabulous and bride-to-be

Josie Griffiths said: “When I was planning my wedding this August, not once did I think about sending out a list of ‘rules’.”

The first two that this bride created seem okay, but also like they’re actually common sense, and then they just descend into chaos.

Insisting on “approving” all photos before publishing and ordering guests to stick to a “minimalist” color palette seems pretty excessive to me.

And rudely telling guests to leave you alone when you arrive at the ceremony and eat dinner – while also asking them to say goodbye before you leave – is a little crazy.

I don’t know how many guests this bride is inviting, but everyone knows that weddings can get a little hectic sometimes. Of course, it would be nice to greet and say goodbye to everyone personally, but I’ve come to terms with the fact that that probably won’t happen.

As with everything in life, if you get upset about everything happening a certain way, you are essentially setting yourself up for failure.

I don’t pretend to be the most relaxed bride ever, and I can’t promise I won’t get a little stressed if we run massively behind on the morning of my wedding, but this is just way over the top.

I agree with the commenters. I wouldn’t bother going.

“Do you even have friends to invite? You sound like a fun person,” wrote one viewer, sarcastically calling Ivy’s husband “a lucky guy.”

Previously, another bride took the internet by storm by claiming that she forced her guests to help her set up the venue.

The woman, who posts on the platform under @thepovcameraapp5, said she has not hired any staff, so everyone has to do their part – even her grandfather, despite his back problems, was not spared from the tasks.

In addition, there was a strict ban on a maximum of two drinks, as the couple wanted to save as much money as possible and “avoid family drama caused by too much alcohol”.
