Bride asks sister to leave her wedding for not sticking to color scheme • PhilSTAR Life

Everything is perfect – that’s what this bride thought before her sister showed up on her wedding day in a purple dress, even though she stressed that yellow was the dress code.

A recent Reddit post the popular subreddit “Am I the Asshole” detailed a 25-year-old bride’s wedding plans. She outlined her vision for the ceremony, including color schemes that would evoke a certain vibe and match the couple’s favorite colors. The bride assigned yellow outfits to her guests, blue to the groom’s friends, and green to their mutual acquaintances.

The uploader stressed that she did not require guests to wear the specified colors from head to toe. She even suggested wearing neutral accessories or one of the other specified colors, such as blue and green.

She asked participants not to wear colors that do not fit the scheme.

Jen, the bride’s sister, didn’t like yellow at all and declared that she wouldn’t wear the specified color. Undeterred, the bride dismissed Jen’s objection as a joke and threatened to exclude her from the wedding if she didn’t give in.

Fast forward to the day of the wedding: Jen arrived in a purple dress.

She claimed that her parents neither supported nor financed the event and therefore decided to exclude her sister from the wedding.

“I told her to leave immediately,” she said.

“The color scheme was perfect and she ruined it. Jen refused to leave until I threatened to call security,” she wrote in the post.

The bride said that the wedding went smoothly even without her sister’s presence, but her parents were unhappy with the decision.

“I told them this is MY wedding that I hosted without their support, so I can kick out whoever I want,” she explained.

The bride explained in detail that she and her sister had a long-standing conflict since childhood. Her sister was given preferential treatment after her adoption due to health problems. The bride understood the reasons for this imbalance and was not surprised by her parents’ angry reaction to her decision to exclude her sister from the wedding.

Knowing she would receive mixed reactions from family and friends, the bride asked for comments and opinions on her situation on the platform.

In a recent updateHe said she had been feeling “guilty” for the past few days, but her Reddit colleagues had made it clear to her that she “not the bad guy and it’s okay that I reacted the way I did.”

The uploader shared that they are in the process of sorting things out in the family and that “Jen is getting the help she needs.”

“I’m open to a closer relationship with them, but I don’t think we’ll ever be a very close-knit family. Some wounds are too deep. But instead of living in the past, I’m looking to the future – starting a family with Kip and making sure I don’t make the same mistakes my parents did,” she concluded.
