Ben Affleck was spotted for the first time since Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce.

The 52-year-old actor left home without his wedding ring on Tuesday, August 20, as he headed to an office building in Los Angeles after Lopez filed for divorce from him earlier that day.

Affleck was photographed walking through the building’s parking lot wearing a gray T-shirt, jeans and black-tinted sunglasses.

The Air The director has been spotted in the same office building on several other occasions in recent weeks as he spent the summer apart from Lopez, 55, amid reports the two have split.

Lopez filed for divorce in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday, multiple sources confirmed to PEOPLE. The actress and singer filed without a lawyer and set a separation date of April 26, 2024.

The filing date also marked the second anniversary of Affleck and Lopez’s wedding reception in Georgia, which took place after they tied the knot in Las Vegas on July 17, 2022.

Affleck was spotted hours earlier landing back in LA with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner after they dropped their daughter Violet, 18, off to college at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. Affleck and Garner, 52, were then seen leaving the airport together in a car.

The cross-country family trip comes after a source told PEOPLE on Monday, August 19, that Affleck has been “very focused on getting Violet ready to move in” despite marital problems with Lopez.

The two briefly reunited on the actor’s 52nd birthday on August 15, when Lopez “stopped by” Affleck’s home, where he hosted a “small birthday party” with his children, a source previously told PEOPLE.

Another source told PEOPLE on Tuesday that Lopez’s decision to divorce Affleck left her “disappointed and sad,” although she feels it’s “time to move on.”

“Ben has given her no indication that he wants to continue their marriage,” the latter insider said. “He has shown no commitment or interest in making their marriage work. It’s gotten to the point where she just has to take care of herself.”

Affleck and Lopez rekindled their romance in April 2021 and made it Instagram official in July of the same year. They were previously engaged in 2002 before calling off their wedding and splitting in 2004.

After reuniting, the couple made several public appearances, including at the Venice Film Festival in September 2021, the Golden Globes last January and the premiere of Lopez’ This is me…now: A love story in February.
