Charli XCX doubles down on Benito Skinner’s new Prime Video show. Read on to find out the latest Overcompensate.

November 8, 2022: Comedian Benny Drama, real name Benito Skinner, swaps his Halloween bridal shower for a…football team? At least just for television. Skinner is creating and starring in a new comedy currently in development at Amazon Prime The Hollywood Reporter. Produced by A24 and Jonah Hill’s Strong Baby Productions, Overcompensate is about a football player from Idaho who struggles to accept his sexuality by overcompensating for being something he’s not. He also enlists his good friend Charli XCX; Skinner previously made a cameo appearance in Charli’s “New Shapes” music video. She will join Skinner as an executive producer and will reportedly write music for the show. If it eventually went into series production, HarlemScott King would be the showrunner for Overcompensate.

October 2, 2024: Benito Skinner announced on Instagram that filming had been completed on S1 of Overcompensate. The show has also found a home on Prime Video. He teased Charli

The joke was then fulfilled by Deadline, who announced that Charli would also have a guest role Overcompensateas well as providing the melodies. There’s a big list of projects coming up for Charli. She also stars in Faces of Death Remake and in Gregg Arakis I want your sex opposite Cooper Hoffman and Olivia Wilde.
