Taylor Swift supports Travis Kelce at Chiefs game against Ravens after fake separation agreement makes the rounds. They’re ‘strong,’ source says

The 2024 NFL season begins tonight with the Kansas City Chiefs taking on the Baltimore Ravens, and there’s a familiar face in the crowd at Arrowhead Stadium. Taylor Swift, who is currently taking a break from her worldwide “Eras Tour,” is on hand to cheer on her boyfriend Travis Kelce as he attempts to make history and win his third consecutive Super Bowl.

Before kickoff, Chiefs President Mark Donovan said in the September 5 episode Front Office Sports today they are “prepared for her” and added: “She wants to be a fan, this is her free time … we will give her that opportunity.”

Swift and Kelce have been in a high-profile relationship for a year now, so they’re used to making headlines – even if they’re false ones.

Earlier this week, an online uproar erupted over an alleged separation agreement drawn up by the athlete’s PR team, with the news set to be released at the end of the month. “These documents are completely false and fabricated and were not created, issued or authorized by this agency,” Kelce’s PR firm, Full Scope, said in a statement.

“It’s funny that people fell for it,” a source close to the couple tells Yahoo Entertainment. “It’s a cliche to say it, but honestly, Taylor and Travis are a strong couple. They’re solid.”

One of the reasons their relationship works is because Kelce isn’t afraid of the spotlight. “He’s proud to be with her,” the Yahoo insider adds.

In an interview that aired on Thursday on CBS MorningThe Super Bowl winner essentially confirmed this when asked if she was Swift’s “arm candy.”

“I guess this is the life I chose,” Kelce laughed. “I enjoy it.”

Those who know Kelce and Swift also praise their authenticity, something Donovan addressed in his podcast interview while calling the couple’s love story “amazing.”

“There are two really special people in the midst of this historic opportunity,” he said. “I say that about Taylor and Travis. One of the reasons I think they have such an impact on the world, but particularly in the Kansas City area and even more specifically in Chiefs Kingdom, is because they’re both really authentic.”

Donovan continued, “One of the things you learn in Kansas City is that if you’re not authentic, it doesn’t work. People see through that. And if you’re authentic, they’ll embrace you, and that’s what happened with both of them, obviously during Travis’ career, but also recently when Taylor became a member of the Kingdom. That’s how we look at it: We’re excited that she’s a true Chiefs fan and a true part of this community.”

Although Swift dominated the NFL’s promo video for the new season – even outshining Chiefs MVP quarterback Patrick Mahomes – Donovan said they would do their “very best to respect the relationship between her and Kelce.”

“Last season at Arrowhead Stadium … we didn’t play a single Taylor Swift song,” he said. “It’s a sign of respect, we’re not trying to capitalize on it. We’re trying to celebrate it.”

Chiefs Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt said on Thursday Today reveal that “it’s always a bit of a surprise” when Swift is in the stadium before the game, and even he isn’t aware of it. “But I’m sure the TV cameras will find her.”

Get ready, Swifties, it’s going to be another exciting NFL season.
