Zoë Kravitz talks about wedding plans with Channing Tatum and life with her father Lenny Kravitz

CNN

Zoë Kravitz tells a little about her private life.

The actress is promoting her directorial debut “Blink Twice,” which stars her great friend Channing Tatum. The two met on the project and Kravitz told Esquire that they met on “note calls” while she was working on the script.

According to the story, the couple met and fell in love before filming began, but managed to keep their relationship a secret for months – at least until they were spotted together on his BMX bike, which Kravitz now finds “funny.”

The two are now engaged and her father, rock musician Lenny Kravitz, fuelled excitement about a wedding when he said in an interview that it would take place next year. His daughter told Esquire that this is actually not the case.

“It’s literally something we said casually,” she said. “Like, I might have said, ‘Next year would be cool.'”

Kravitz also talked about how she moved in with her father at the age of 11 after spending the first ten years of her life with her mother, actress Lisa Bonet.

“I think it was very hurtful that I moved away from her to be with my dad and my dad wasn’t even there,” the younger Kravitz said. “I just wish I could have appreciated what she did for me.”

Bonet, she said, was “so focused on preserving my innocence” and her creativity. Her life after moving to Miami with her father was much less structured and there were fewer rules, she said.

“It wasn’t that my father didn’t care,” Kravitz explained. “He was just interested in other things.”

“Blink Twice” will be released on August 23rd.
