Sometimes celebrities have more in common with their fans than you might think, and that is the case with Zoë Kravitz, who – like impatient HBO viewers everywhere – is “waiting by the phone” for any schedule updates for the long-awaited third season of David E. Kelley’s Big little lies.

“I’m waiting for the third season like everyone else,” said the Flash twice director told People in a new interview. “I’m waiting on the phone, waiting for the script to be ready.” The actress and filmmaker said she knew “nothing” about the upcoming installment, but was “excited” to be involved in it.

While Kravitz has yet to reunite with her co-stars Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern on screen, the powerful actresses arrived in the bleak hills of Big Sur to support her at the premiere. Flash twicetook place on August 8th at the DGA Theater in Los Angeles.

The Kimi The star said she was “not surprised” the pair were at the premiere, adding it was “just so cool that they came, though.” She said: “Everyone’s busy and they’re working and they have families and all that, and so I think… they don’t just talk like that. They really show up like that, both publicly and privately.”

As Deadline previously reported, there are high hopes for a third season of the Emmy-winning series – which also stars Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley, Meryl Streep (in the second season), Adam Scott and Alexander Skarsgård – and Dern told Entertainment Weekly earlier this year that the series’ stars are actively planning a junior season.

“I can tell you that all of us involved in this couldn’t imagine a better time,” Dern said at the time. “We love each other so much and would have the time of our lives if we were back together, and we love our characters so much. I really know what you know. But I know it’s something that (Witherspoon and Kidman) are diligently working on, and I really hope it comes to fruition.”

Last year, executive producer Kidman also renewed hope for a third season with the casual remark: “We will bring you a third, just for your information.” Five years have now passed since the premiere of the second season of the crime drama.
