Paul Harrell loses battle with cancer at age 58
Harrell, whose YouTube channel has over 1.1 million subscribers, was diagnosed with stage 2 pancreatic cancer in July of last year. “If you see me, I’m dead,” he says in the video, in which he is seen sitting on a log in a forest – the same location from which he announced his cancer diagnosis.
The weapons expert then talks about his deteriorating health, despite previously telling his fans that his cancer was caught early. “We caught it early, but not as early as I thought. It’s spread faster than I thought,” Harrell continues, adding, “My time is running out.”
He then revealed the truth about why he needed crutches. He said the cancer had spread to his bones and caused them to “crumble.” This resulted in a broken hip that left him unable to walk without support. Harrell concluded by apologizing to his fans.
Harrell admitted he felt guilty about his sudden passing, feeling his death would mean letting down the community he had built. “I was hoping I could continue in this format for the next 10 or even 15 years,” he says in the heartbreaking video.
“Even when I was diagnosed, I was hoping we would be here for at least another two or three years, but it turned out to be just a few months. I apologize for that. I feel like I’ve let everyone down,” Harrell concludes.
