    The U.S. government recently announced that Americans can once again request four free COVID-19 tests.

    Any U.S. household can order four free COVID-19 tests on the United States Postal Service website dedicated to testing kits.

    According to the US Postal Service, testing and shipping to households will be free starting September 30.

    The federal government has noted on Covidtests.gov that the expiration date of some COVID-19 tests has been extended so that they can still be used after the expiration date printed on the boxes.

    The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has provided a list of expiration dates for COVID-19 test kits for your reference.

    These rapid antigen tests, which are not PCR tests, provide results in 30 minutes without the need to take them to a laboratory.

    The website encourages people who take the tests to report the results to health authorities here.
