The Tigers lost 3-0 to the Yankees last night. Opening batter Beau Brieske allowed one run in the first inning and lost. Brant Hurter took the lead in the fourth inning and allowed two runs on four hits over the course of the game.

In their major league debut, Jace Jung had two walks and Trey Sweeney had a single.
To make room for Jung on the roster, infielder Gio Urshela was designated for assignment. To make room for Sweeney, Akil Baddoo was sent back to Toledo.
The Brewers got off to an early lead and held the Guardians at bay 5-3 last night. Willy Adames hit a three-run home run in the first inning. Aaron Civale allowed four hits in six scoreless innings. Bryce Wilson served up two home runs in the eighth inning.
The Brewers will host the Guardians again tonight. Freddy Peralta will pitch against Tanner Bibee.
Milwaukee outfielder Christian Yelich underwent season-ending back surgery yesterday. Doctors say the procedure was successful and he should be back to full strength next spring.
