Lyra Valkyria the former NXT Women’s Champion, believes there is a need for a Middle category titles for the Women in the WWE. There has been a lot of talk about this topic for some time. Many even believe that a mid-tier title has already been decided and will soon be officially announced. This would give the Divas additional opportunities to show their talent.
During her conversation with Ten Count Media, Lyra Valkyria seemed to be a firm believer in the idea of ​​a middle-tier title for women, stating that such a thing is desperately needed. Let’s see what else Valkyria had to say on the subject:
“I think a Intercontinental title for the women, it would be incredible, it’s kind of the workhorse title. We have so many hard-working women who are still waiting for a chance to step up and show what they can do and this would give them that opportunity. That would obviously be incredible.”

Do the women in WWE need a mid-level title?

The men in WWE compete for more titles than the women. This allows for more storylines and also gives the stars a chance to showcase their talent. Just imagine what Sami Zayn would be doing today if he hadn’t won the Intercontinental Championship? Or where would LA Knight be without the US Championship?
It’s also worth noting that if the World Heavyweight Championship didn’t exist, Finn Balor wouldn’t have cheated on Damian Priest at SummerSlam 2024. So it’s clear that having more titles to fight for gives wrestlers more incentive to showcase their wrestling excellence and leads to exciting storylines.
Currently, there is a lack of women’s titles in WWE. Introducing a Women’s Intercontinental Championship would be an excellent step to fix this problem.
