Woodland Park School District announced new cell phone restrictions for students

WOODLAND PARK, Colorado (KRDO) — The Woodland Park School District (WPSD) announced Tuesday that there will be new restrictions on cell phone use in classrooms this school year.

According to the district, students must now leave their cell phones in an area selected by the classroom teacher, and access to cell phones during class is prohibited unless the teacher grants permission for special classes or circumstances.

The district said this initiative aims to minimize distractions and allow students to better focus and actively participate in class.

The WPSD can assure parents that in urgent cases the school office can assist in communicating messages to students during the school day.
