Women’s soccer team ranks 12th in SBC preseason coaches poll

CONWAY, SC – The Coastal Carolina women’s soccer team was ranked 12th in the 2024 Sun Belt Conference women’s soccer preseason coaches poll, the league announced Wednesday.

CCU received 55 points and finished ahead of Marshall (48 points) and Troy (45 points).

Old Dominion, the two-time defending Sun Belt Conference Tournament winner, finished first with 181 points and seven first-place votes. James Madison finished a close second with 177 points and three first-place votes.

ULM followed in third place with 138 points, while Georgia Southern and Georgia State tied for fourth with 134 points each. Appalachian State and South Alabama tied for sixth with 126 points each and one first-place vote.

Texas State finished eighth (118 points), Louisiana ninth (74 points), and Arkansas State and Southern Miss tied for tenth place. with 57 points.

Brackets indicate first place winners

The grand opening of the new CCU Soccer Complex will be on August 14th at 6:00 p.m. ET, immediately followed by a free youth practice at 6:30 p.m. ET.

CCU will welcome Richmond for its first regular season game of the season on August 15. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET.
