Women’s soccer opens 2024 schedule against Furman – University of South Carolina Athletics

COLUMBIA, SC – The South Carolina women’s soccer team opens the 2024 season at home, playing Furman at Stone Stadium at 7 p.m. Live radio coverage of the game will be available on 107.5, with coverage beginning at 6:55 p.m.

LAST TIME

The Gamecocks finished the 2023 season 12-3-6, culminating in going undefeated in the conference for the fourth time in program history (5-0-5) and advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Senior forward Cat Barry was named to the All-SEC First Team and Reagan Schubach was named to the All-Freshman Team. Sophomore defender Gracie Falla was named SEC Defender of the Year, while goaltender Heather Hinz was named SEC Goaltender of the Year.

The Gamecocks enter the 2024 season as the No. 21 team in the nation and should finish third in the conference in the SEC preseason.

Exploring the Paladins

Sunday’s meeting with Furman will be the 19th in program history. The Gamecocks hold a 15-2-1 lead over the Paladins and have won 11 of their last 12 meetings. Carolina last faced Furman at home (Sept. 10, 2023), winning the matchup 2-0.

The Paladins come into the game with a 3-2 opening win over Charleston Southern (August 15).

Fans will have the option to park in one of the City of Columbia’s metered lots around Stone Stadium (pay via the ParkMobile app), the Roost parking lot or the indoor tennis court parking lot. The Athletics Village parking garage will be not be available.

Single game tickets are on sale now. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for youth 17 and under, and $3 for groups of 15 or more (if purchased in advance). Fans can also purchase the Gamecock Go Pass for $20 per month.
