Women’s golf announces schedule for 2024-25

The Valparaiso University women’s golf team has announced its schedule for the 2024-25 season. It includes a total of ten tournaments, five in the fall and five in the spring. The highlight is the Missouri Valley Conference Championship, which will again be held this season at the Annbriar Golf Club in Waterloo, Illinois.

The schedule begins with the Redbird Fall Invitational, hosted by Illinois State, on Sept. 8-9 at Weibring Golf Club in Normal, Illinois. This is the fourth year in a row that Valpo has started its season with a trip to Bloomington-Normal. That is followed by another familiar tournament, as the Beacons will once again compete in the Brittany Kelly Classic, hosted by Ball State, on Sept. 16-17 at the Players Club in Muncie, Indiana. This is the fourth year in a row that Valpo has competed in that tournament as well.

The fall schedule continues with the program’s ninth appearance at the Butler Fall Classic, including the fourth consecutive year the team will compete in the event, which will be held Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 at Highland Golf Club in Indianapolis. The Beacons will make their first appearance at the Western Michigan Invite on Oct. 7 and 8 at Moors Golf Club in Portage, Mich., before rounding out the fall at the Braun Intercollegiate, hosted by Evansville at Oak Meadow Country Club on Oct. 21 and 22. Valpo will compete in the Braun Intercollegiate for the ninth time and first since 2019-20.

Hoping for warm weather, the program will begin the spring season with the Islander Classic, hosted by Texas A&M Corpus Christi at Corpus Christi Country Club in the Lone Star State on Feb. 17 and 18. Valpo will be participating in the event for the third consecutive year. Spring continues with Butler’s Don Benbow Spring Invitational on March 10 and 11 at Ardea Country Club in Oldsmar, Fla. — another familiar destination as the Beacons are participating in the event for the eighth time ever and second consecutive year.

The team will return to the Midwest on March 24-25 for Northern Kentucky’s The Julie at Elks Run Golf Course in Batavia, Ohio. Valpo is making its second consecutive appearance in the tournament. The team’s final preparation for the MVC Championship will be March 30-31 at the Indiana State Spring Invitational at the Country Club of Terre Haute. This event will be on the schedule for the fifth time in the last six years.

The aforementioned MVC Championship will take place April 13-15. Valpo will look to continue making positive progress after the team’s scoring average improved by four strokes compared to the 2023-2024 preseason.
