Women’s football receives award for United Soccer’s coaching team

KANSAS CITY, Missouri – The Coastal Carolina women’s soccer team has been named to the United Soccer Coaches Academic Team for the 2023-24 season. This marks the 22nd time in the program’s history that the Women in Teal have accomplished this feat.

United Soccer Coaches annually recognizes the academic achievements of college soccer teams whose student-athletes collectively demonstrate academic excellence over the course of an entire school year. The award is given to programs that maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster.

CCU was one of 237 NCAA DI women’s soccer programs to receive the honor after earning a 3.77 grade point average during the 2023-24 academic year.

A total of 405 NCAA DI men’s and women’s soccer teams received this honor, and CCU was one of 102 schools whose men’s and women’s programs were both recognized.

The women’s soccer team begins the regular season on August 15 at 7:00 p.m. ET against Richmond at the new CCU Soccer Stadium.
