ROCHESTER, Mich. – Oakland continues the early part of its season by heading to Ohio for back-to-back games where they will face Akron and Kent State.

The Golden Grizzlies look to remain undefeated against the Zips and hold an all-time record of 2-0-1. The last time the teams faced each other was in 2022 and they ended in a 1-1 tie.

The Zips enter the season with a 1-0-1 record and have two road wins, including a 2-1 victory over Iona earlier in the year and a 1-1 tie with Eastern Illinois. Akron is on pace to rebound after having a 3-14-1 record in 2023, including an 0-8 home record.

Oakland ends the week with a difficult test against Kent State. Golden Flashes, where the Golden Grizzlies look to remain undefeated in Kent, Ohio.

Oakland has an overall record of 1-3-2 against the Golden Flashes (1-0-1 away), losing in two of their last three meetings, including a 1-2 loss almost exactly a year ago. The Golden Grizzlies defeated Kent State in the last meeting on the Golden Flashes’ home turf with a 2-0 victory in 2022.
