Women’s basketball participates in the St. Pete Showcase

SEATTLE – The James Madison women’s basketball team has added two games to its non-league schedule for the 2024-25 season as the Dukes will participate in the St. Pete Showcase, which will be played Nov. 27-Dec. 1 at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida.

The four-team showcase includes Florida, Northern Arizona and Tulane. JMU will open play against the Lumberjacks on Thanksgiving (November 28), then host the Gators the next day.

The Dukes will face NAU for the first time in program history and have a record of 4-1 against current Big Sky opponents. The last time JMU faced a Big Sky opponent was in 2023-24, when the Dukes defeated Montana State 65-62 on Nov. 24 in the Cancun Challenge.

James Madison has a 0-2 record in its series against Florida dating back to 1980. The last time the two teams met, UF beat the Dukes 85-80 at home in the fourth round of the WNIT on March 30, 2013. JMU has an overall record of 9-20 against current SEC members.

The Dukes will open the 2024-25 season at Kent State on Nov. 4 as part of the MAC-SBC Challenge. JMU’s Sun Belt Conference schedule has been announced, while other non-conference competitions will be announced at a later date.
