Women’s basketball announces schedule for 2024-25 non-league season

Peoria, Illinois – Bradley Women’s Basketball announces its schedule for the upcoming 2024–25 non-conference regular season, which includes five home and away games and culminates with a tournament in Florida.




“Our players are excited about the competitiveness of our team outside of the conference and the opportunity to grow together,” said head coach Kate Popovec-Goss.

November 2nd, friendly match against Knox College (Peoria, IL)

The Braves will begin the 2024-25 season with an exhibition matchup against Knox College, played at Renaissance Coliseum. This game will be the fourth meeting between these two teams, with the Braves holding the edge by one game.

November 12th in Lindenwood (St. Charles, MO)

Bradley’s regular season opener will see the Lindenwood Lions travel to Peoria. The Lions will travel to Peoria to play the Braves for the second time in as many years. In their last meeting, Bradley won 63-56.

November 17th in Central Michigan (Mount Pleasant, MI)

In their first road trip of the season, Bradley will travel to Michigan to face the Central Michigan Chippewas. Similar to last season, the Braves will face the Chippewas in their third game of the season. Bradley won their home opener last season, 65-62.

November 21 against IU-Indy (Indianapolis, IN)

The Braves host the Jaguars for the first opponent of a three-game home series. This will be the first meeting between these two teams as IU-Indy travels to Peoria.

November 24 against Western Illinois (Macomb(IL)

In a storied rivalry that spans just 70 miles, the Leathernecks return to Peoria for the first time since 2018, where the Braves emerged victorious. This meeting will mark the 43rd time these two teams have met head-to-head.

November 27th vs. NKU (Highland Heights, KY)

To conclude the non-conference home schedule, Bradley will face the Northern Kentucky Norse in the first meeting between these two organizations.

December 3 at Chicago State (Chicago, IL)

The Braves begin their tour of Illinois with a game against Chicago State. Chicago State, newly joined to the NEC, will make its first appearance on the Bradley schedule since the 2019-20 season. In a rivalry steeped in history, the Braves have the edge, sitting 14-1 in the series.

December 12th in Illinois (Champaign, IL)

In the first of two Big Ten games on the Braves’ schedule, the team will make a quick trip to Champaign to face the Fighting Illini, which will be the first meeting between the two programs since the 2017-18 season.

December 15th at Northwestern (Evanston, IL)

The Braves end their Illinois trip with a visit to Northwestern. In the second of two Big Ten games Kate Popovec-Goss returns to her alma mater as the Braves look to even the series at 3-3.

December 19th at Stetson (Hatter Classic in DeLand, FL)

The Braves will participate in the Hatter Classic, hosted by Stetson University. Bradley will play two games over two days, the first on December 19 against Stetson. On December 20, the Braves will close out non-conference play with a game against Bethune-Cookman.
