In a disturbing incident, a 23-year-old employee of Third Wave Coffee in Bengaluru was caught when a woman discovered a mobile phone hidden in the branch’s toilet.

The employee, identified as Manoj, worked at the popular cafe on BEL Road in Bengaluru.

The incident came to light when a customer who was present at the store shared his shocking experience on Instagram.

In the Instagram story, user gangsofcinepur revealed, “A woman found a phone hidden in a dustbin in the washroom. It had been recording video for about two hours and it was pointed at the toilet seat. It was set to airplane mode so it didn’t make any noise and carefully hidden in a trash bag with a hole made in it so only the camera could be seen. It was soon discovered that the phone belonged to one of the men working there. Police were called and soon arrived and action was taken. This was so horrific to watch.”

Police arrest employees

Following this discovery, the police were immediately notified and arrived at the scene to investigate the incident. The police then arrested Manoj, confiscated his mobile phone and confirmed that about two hours of videos had been recorded on it.

The accused, a resident of Bhadravathi, had worked at Third Wave Coffee for some time and authorities are now investigating whether he had recorded similar videos in the past.

Responding to the incident, Third Wave Coffee stated, “We regret the unfortunate incident that occurred at our BEL Road branch in Bengaluru and would like to stress that such actions are absolutely unacceptable at Third Wave Coffee. We have acted swiftly to resolve the situation by immediately dismissing the individual and ensuring the safety of our customers.”

Management also stressed its commitment to customer safety, stating, “The safety and well-being of our customers is always our highest priority. The cafe has a strict zero-tolerance policy and the individual concerned at the BEL Road store was immediately dismissed. The necessary legal action has been taken.”
