Woman dies when car falls off cliff near Prescott

PRESCOTT, AZ (AZFamily) – A woman is dead after she was thrown from her vehicle that plunged off a cliff near Prescott on Friday.

At around 5 p.m., Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office officials were called to a report of a car that had fallen off a cliff on Thumb Butte Road, about two miles from the intersection with Copper Basin Road.

The officers found the vehicle about 300 meters further down the steep mountain slope.

After descending, officers found the driver of the car, 39-year-old Kristin Little, who died when she was thrown from the car about halfway up the mountainside.

The YCSO flew drones in the area and a DPS Ranger helicopter was deployed to search for additional victims, but they were unable to find anyone.

Due to the rough terrain and darkness in the area, the YCSO stayed with Little until Saturday morning, when she was transported to the coroner’s office.

YCSO says Little was traveling north on Thumb Butte Loop Road when she drifted to the left, causing her car to leave the road and go down the mountain. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
