With this fast charging technology you can charge your phone in less than 5 minutes

Since smartphones have existed, each new version has tried to improve one thing: battery life. But what if it didn’t matter anymore that your phone lasted longer? Most of the best smartphones can easily last two days with up to 10 hours of continuous use. That’s long enough for most people. So what if your phone charged faster instead, and an extra hour of battery life didn’t matter anymore? That’s exactly what Realme is trying to do with its new 320W fast charging technology.

During a live demo in Shenzhen, China, Realme fully charged a smartphone with a 4,420mAh battery in just four and a half minutes. This blazing charging speed is not a magic trick, but the result of two key innovations developed by Realme.

First, the brand has upgraded its previous 240W charger to a whopping 320W without increasing its size. They even went as far as calling it the “Pocket Cannon.” Not only does this beast pump out 320W, but it also features two USB-C ports. One can deliver 150W to your smartphone, and the other can output 65W to power your laptop.

The second magic piece is a new 4,420 mAh battery with four individual cells that all charge simultaneously. This clever design fits into a smartphone without adding any extra weight. For comparison, Apple and Samsung still use single-cell batteries that offer more capacity but can’t quite keep up in terms of speed.

Realme is no stranger to breaking records. Last year, the brand launched the GT Neo 5, which could charge a 4,600mAh battery in nine and a half minutes using 240W technology. However, the title of “fastest charging smartphone” didn’t last long as Redmi quickly followed with its 300W technology that could charge a 4,100mAh battery in just about five minutes. Now, Realme is back on top.

But before you scour the internet for the next Realme phone to launch with this lightning-fast charging technology, there’s a catch. Realme didn’t reveal which smartphone was used in the demo, or when – or if – we’ll see this technology in a device. We suspect it’s coming soon, but you might have to wait a bit longer.
