MIAMI – South Florida is in for a windy Friday, with the possibility of quick showers and passing storms due to the lingering moisture associated with the tail Tropical Storm Helene.

Scattered showers will develop in the afternoon, with winds gusting up to 30 to 35 miles per hour. Due to strong winds, there is a high risk of rip currents on Atlantic beaches. It is not safe to go swimming in the sea. A small craft advisory is in effect for Atlantic and Keys waters due to hazardous marine conditions.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Miami-Dade and Broward until 6 p.m., with temperatures expected to reach 105 to 110 degrees, including humidity.

Saturday will not be as windy and there will be less chance of rain. Highs will climb into the low 90s and feel like triple digits. A heat warning is likely to be issued. Partial storms are possible.

On Sunday it will be drier and the chance of rain will be lower. With more sunshine, things will get hotter, with highs in the low 90s and heat indexes in the 100s. Only isolated showers will be possible.

The drier air will persist into early next week and the chance of rain will remain low.
