Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and global icon Taylor Swift have been together for over a year, which suggests that the relationship is very serious. Just about everyone has given their opinion on the couple, especially if and when Kelce and Swift will get married.

The last to do so was country star Blake Shelton on Thursday on the Pat McAfee Show.

As soon as Kelce and the “Karma” singer were spotted together, rumors began to circulate that the relationship was a publicity stunt.

“A lot of people thought it was fake,” McAfee said. “But I thought from the beginning that their personality traits were a good fit. Travis Kelce, tight end, not a quarterback. He has no problem standing behind Patrick Mahomes when they walk a red carpet. So Taylor Swift, I guess, has dealt with a lot of guys who weren’t necessarily happy about being in Taylor Swift’s shadow. Travis Kelce is OK with that.”

Both stars are at the peak of their respective careers, so the rumors were not very justified.

A year later, the celebrity couple is still together. Swift even mentioned Kelce in her speech at the VMAs.

Shelton is married to pop princess Gwen Stefani. The couple was faced with similar allegations when a romantic relationship between the two first became known.

“Because it makes perfect sense to marry someone to advance your career,” Shelton said sarcastically. “There’s been a lot (of speculation).”

Shelton had high praise for the Kansas City tight end.

“He stands out no matter where he is or what he’s doing. He’s a great personality, a funny guy. He walks into the room and is immediately present. There will never be a moment where he’s in the background, just because of his charisma and personality. He just owns the moment, whatever that is.”

The mega-superstar obviously sees this in Kelce, who is immersed in the world of football. Swift has become such a big football fan that she has started to design plays for the Chiefs to use this season.

McAfee asked the country star if he believed in Kelce and Swift’s relationship. Shelton responded with the phrase that many fans hope the celebrity couple will soon say to each other.

“I do,” Shelton replied.
