Will Brock Bowers play today? Raiders TE had no catch in the first half against Panthers

The Raiders practice during the first half of their Week 3 game with the Panthers.

Las Vegas pulled off an upset win over the Ravens last week, but will now be tested against a winless Carolina team that made a big change this week. The Panthers decided to bench 2023 first-round pick Bryce Young and hand the keys of the offense to veteran quarterback Andy Dalton.

Dalton made Carolina’s offense look much more functional and went into halftime with a 21-7 lead.

Las Vegas tight end Brock Bowers was nowhere to be seen until the end of the half, so fantasy managers are curious to see if the rookie pass catcher plays today.

Is Brock Bowers playing today?

Yes, Bowers is playing today. He had just one catch for 21 yards at the end of the first half, but was injured on the play.

Fantasy managers’ panic is justified. Bowers was a central point of the Raiders’ offense and caught 15 passes for 156 yards in two games.

Starting quarterback Gardner Minshew quickly developed a good relationship with the 2024 first-round pick, but was left out for most of the first half today.

But it’s not just Bowers’ fault. Las Vegas as a team has only 114 passing yards.

Wide receiver Tre Tucker leads the Raiders with two catches for 60 yards, while Davante Adams has two receptions for 21 yards on a team-high four targets. Bowers, Alexander Mattison, Jakobi Meyers and Ameer Abdullah have the only other receptions in the first half.

Don’t give up hope on Bowers just yet. Las Vegas trails at halftime, and Minshew will likely step up in the second half.

This should give Bowers, who has made an immediate impression in his rookie season, more opportunities to catch passes.

Is Brock Bowers injured?

Bowers was injured on his only pass reception of the first half. He was hit deep after gaining 21 yards and went to the medical tent at the end of the half.

We will likely get an update on his status when the third quarter begins.

Bowers did not have an injury prior to this game. He participated in practice every day this week and never appeared on the injury list.
