For many professional tennis players, the US Open is the busiest week on the calendar, given the proximity to American brands and the opportunity to sign multi-million dollar contracts. However, in some cases, the players are not the only ones earning millions.

“I probably have as many brand deals as Tommy during the US Open,” says Paige Lorenze, a content creator who has been dating US star Tommy Paul since 2022.

Lorenze is one of many tennis influencers breaking out this year as brands try to reach audiences that aren’t fans of the traditional sport. Lorenze estimates that her followers – nearly 700,000 on Instagram – are about 80 percent female and only 10 to 15 percent are tennis fans.

This trend can be seen in many sports, but tennis is the most attractive because it is more favored by the market.

Forbes estimates that the most famous of these tennis influencers, such as Lorenze, Morgan Riddle (girlfriend of Taylor Fritz, the American star ranked 12th in the world) and Ayan Broomfield (girlfriend of Frances Tiafoe, ranked 20th), will earn between one and three million dollars from brands this year.

Videos like “Get Ready With Me” can attract fashion and cosmetics companies as well as sportswear brands as sponsors.

“I’d be lying if I said tennis hasn’t affected my income. As far as brand deals go, it’s made my content more valuable,” Lorenze tells Forbes. “I had a very large following even before tennis, but I think that has to do with being around the sport that the brands really like.”
