Who is Mark Henry?

Born in East Texas in 1971, Mark quickly became a wrestling fan, idolizing French wrestler André the Giant.

He struggled in school. He was diagnosed with dyslexia at age 14 and later scored below 700 on the SAT, but he excelled in both powerlifting and football.

The Los Angeles Times nicknamed him “the strongest teenager in the world,” and by the time he graduated from high school, he had already set state and national records in all four powerlifting categories.

The teen sensation attracted international attention at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona when she finished tenth in the super heavyweight category.

At the Pan American Games three years later, he won gold, silver and bronze medals.

In 1996, the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) signed the star, where he stayed for almost 25 years and eventually earned the title of “Strongest Man in the World”.

Mark retired from WWE in 2021 and told the Insight podcast that he was denied a job behind the scenes.

He said: “From a business perspective, I wanted an office job because I didn’t want to wrestle anymore and they didn’t want to hire me.

“I had no experience on the corporate side or the business side or the leadership side or whatever you want to call it… I wasn’t given that opportunity.”

Mark has a wife, Jana Henry, and two children – daughter Joanna Henry and WWE wrestler Jacob Henry.

Why is Mark Henry dead trending?

It’s not entirely clear why rumors of Mark’s death have resurfaced, but throughout his career, the World’s Strongest Man has been the subject of numerous rumors about the deaths of prominent figures.

In 2011, rumors emerged that he died live on an episode of SmackDown after being defeated by Paul Wight, also known as Big Show.

The world of wrestling has a history of dramatic and sudden deaths, which may lead fans to invent similar stories.

WWE wrestler (then WWF) Owen Hart fell to his death off-camera during the pay-per-view event “Over the Edge.”

The next day, Mark was seen crying on an episode of Raw is War.

To mark the occasion, users have been spreading the news of Henry’s alleged death on X. One said: “Finally, Mark Henry is gone!”

Another joked: “Why do these assholes keep trying to kill Mark Henry????”

What did Mark Henry say about the death rumor?

Fortunately, Mark is healthy and happy.

In a video posted to his X and Instagram accounts on September 2, he said, “Guys, don’t believe everything you hear. I’m feeling pretty alive, watching Longhorns, hanging out, about to grab a snack! How y’all doing?”
