Which Olympic sport should you do based on your zodiac sign?

If you’re like me and you’ve spent basically the entire Olympics wondering if this is your sign to finally sign up for a college sport, you’re not alone. It’s clear that everyone and their mother is obsessed with new hobbies rn, so we might as well kill two birds with one stone and meet attractive people who take care of their health. Because in case you haven’t heard, sports are the new dating app. Aside from Olympians re-downloading Tinder to find a date in the Village, us regular folks have to get creative to meet cuties in real life, and a little summer competition doesn’t hurt. Plus, I’ll never turn down an orange slice!

If you don’t feel confident about choosing the right sport to try, why not look to the stars? Astrid Bly, astrology expert with Californian psychicsgave a rundown of the sport each zodiac sign should play. And since we’re still in the hands of the 2024 Olympics, we’re only including the sports taking place in Paris. No dodgeball or pickleball league, sorry! We’re getting real giddy about what you’d play if you were a world-famous athlete. If my days as a soccer prodigy are anything to go by, I know I’d be best picking flowers if I was in the goalie’s box. Is there an Olympic medal for that?

Aries – Basketball

If it is not already obvious: Aries are a intensive zodiac sign, so they deserve a sport that challenges them. “The sign of Aries is intense and focused, but still dynamic,” says Bly. “They are willing to do whatever it takes to achieve their goals, and there is little that can stop them.” As an Aries, I fully support this message. “Basketball is a fast-paced, popular, and demanding sport that reflects the energy and intensity of this sign in equal measure.” And if that means I have to spend more time watching the WNBA FOR RESEARCH PURPOSES, I wouldn’t be mad about it.

Taurus – Lacrosse

The perfect summer sport for the down-to-earth, patient and loyal Taurus is, of course, a team sport. “Lacrosse is particularly well suited to Taurus,” says Bly. “While such an agile sport may seem odd to the down-to-earth Taurus, lacrosse is also a sport that requires determination, assertiveness and dependability – all qualities that Taurus has in abundance.” Worst case scenario, you can end up dressed as Regina George. If lacrosse isn’t your thing, soccer can also satisfy your team spirit. Yuck?

Gemini – Running

Shock! Running is the best summer sport for the fickle Gemini. “As an air sign, Gemini loves fast movement and freedom, and this intellectual sign is not known for sitting still,” says Bly. “And just as every Gemini has two faces, running is best divided into two categories: sprints and long-distance running. This versatile and unrestricted sport suits the sign of Gemini beautifully.” Plus, it doesn’t hurt that running clubs are as free and numerous as a sex club in Berlin – and just as hot!

Cancer – Swimming

As a water sign, it might not be particularly surprising that Cancers are known for swimming. But this connection goes beyond their basic similarity. “Passionate and warm-hearted Cancers can benefit from the peaceful, rippling water of the pool,” says Bly. “And more importantly, the Cancers of the zodiac can be a little moody at times, and the competitive elements of swimming can help them feel more confident in expressing those feelings.” Of course, no one looks sexy in a swim cap, but think of how much emotional control you’ll bring to your next date.

Lion – Gymnastics

The best summer sport for Leo is, of course, gymnastics, playful, flashy and endlessly charismatic. “Gymnastics is one of the most popular summer sports and combines performance with real, hard-earned skill,” says Bly. “It’s a perfect fit for the feisty Leo who loves the spotlight and has the energy to endure it.” Besides, only Leos would see Simone Biles at the Olympics and think: yes, I could do that.

Jungfrau – Tennis

Whether in singles or doubles, tennis requires balance, a keen eye and patience, so it’s a natural fit for a Virgo. “That makes it a wonderful choice for the Virgo sign, who is both naturally inclined towards harmony (making them great teammates) and independent enough to stand on their own two feet,” says Bly. And if I know anything about tennis (a sport that wasn’t invented until challenger), you get access to a lot of hot people.

Libra – Rowing

Scales are allegedly hardworking, so they are best suited to rowing. “This may seem like a somewhat counterintuitive combination, but Libra is a sign of balance, equilibrium and mediation,” explains Bly. “They are especially known for their natural teamwork and ability to work together.” Rowing requires perfect synchronization, which suits this Venus-ruled sign well.

Scorpio – Fencing

Scorpios are often magnetic and can be ~hard to understand~, but they are also sensitive and can be a bit sharp if pushed (get it, ha?). I would neverbut some call them manipulative. “The truth is that Scorpios just have a great understanding of other people,” says Bly. “They are very perceptive! This makes fencing an excellent game for them, as it is a sport about sizing up your opponent and striking at the right moment.” And who wouldn’t want an excuse to recreate the camp scene from The parent trap?

Archery – Archery

That archery is Sagittarius’ sport may seem obvious, but this sign is represented by the archer for a reason! “This sign is straightforward, idealistic and enthusiastic, and always gets straight to the point,” says Bly. “They are also independent and thoughtful. These traits combined make the art of archery a perfect fit for this sign.” What’s it like to be literal Cupid? Without the diaper, of course.

Capricorn – Volleyball

“Capricorns have very high standards and are incredibly determined and goal-oriented, but can also be patient when needed,” says Bly. (I’ll believe the patience part when I see it!) “With their natural inclination to always keep their eye on the ball (both literally and figuratively), they are well suited to the fast-paced and competitive sport of volleyball.” And if you’re spending your last days of summer rolling around in the sand, you might as well do that in a cute bikini top and booty shorts.

Aquarius – Diving

Aquarius is a sign known for its unique perspective on life. She’s not like other girls! “Freedom-loving and smart, Aquarians love to forge their own path and find their own way forward,” says Bly. So Aquarians might especially enjoy learning the art of scuba diving this summer, thanks to their individual nature. It also helps that they’re a water sign.

Pisces – Cycling

Known for their natural intuition and compassion, Pisces belong in nature. “Because of this connection to the world and the people in it, Pisces often need time to sort out and recharge their own emotions without outside interference,” says Bly. “So sports that offer them time for themselves and really beautiful views suit them very well, and cycling is a wonderful way to do it.” Maybe you’ll be the one to bring back Livestrong bands — without scandal.
