Where is College GameDay this week? What you need to know for Week 2

“College GameDay” returns to the Big House.

College football’s preeminent pregame show returns to Ann Arbor on Saturday for the top-10 matchup between No. 9 Michigan and No. 3 Texas – a game that has been a fixture on college football fans’ calendars since the end of last season.

The heavyweight duel between the Wolverines and the Longhorns on Saturday, which was originally scheduled to begin in Texas, is the first game between the two teams since the 2005 Rose Bowl Game. In that game, Texas kicker Dusty Mangum scored a 37-yard field goal as time expired, giving the Longhorns the win.

It will also be the second career start for Wolverines quarterback Davis Warren, who won the battle for the quarterback position with Alex Orji and seventh-year graduate Jack Tuttle. Warren finished Michigan’s 30-10 season-opening win over Fresno State with 15 of 25 passing for 118 yards, one touchdown and one interception. His Texans counterpart will be former Ohio State quarterback Quinn Ewers, who threw three touchdowns in Week 1.

For the top game of Week 2, ESPN’s “College GameDay” travels to Michigan, where the Wolverines, a top-10 nonconference team, face Texas (No. 3). ESPN has selected the Wolverines and Longhorns over Week 2’s other top-25 matchup between Tennessee (No. 12) and NC State (No. 23) in the Duke’s Mayo Classic.

The trip to Ann Arbor in Week 2 will mark the third time Michigan has hosted College GameDay since 2019. The last time GameDay was in Michigan was in 2023, at The Game against Ohio State. The Wolverines appeared on College GameDay three times last season alone, including both College Football Playoff games.

Saturday’s show will be Texas’ 23rd appearance on College GameDay.
