Where can I dispose of trees and other storm damage in Pueblo?

Pueblo residents who need to get rid of fallen branches, tree limbs or other debris following the severe storm that swept through the city on August 13 can do so at a free drop-off location Friday through Sunday.

According to a city press release, the site will be in the parking lot of the Langoni Sports Complex, 1600 W. 24th St.

“We know that many of our residents are cleaning up debris and damage in their yards or on their property caused by the storm we experienced on Tuesday of this week, so we want to offer a free drop-off site for waste disposal,” Pueblo Public Works Director Andrew Hayes said in the release. “The site will be available to Pueblo residents throughout the weekend to conveniently complete the post-storm cleanup.”

The landfill is open and accessible to the city’s residents from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Trees, branches and twigs can be disposed of there, but other garbage is not accepted.

No commercial waste will be accepted and no disposal will take place outside of opening hours. Large or commercial vehicles may be turned away, the city’s press release states.

“We hope our citizens will take advantage of this free opportunity to dispose of their branches and twigs while this location is open,” Hayes said.
