The U.S. women’s national basketball team will play its semifinal match at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris against Australia in France on Friday.
The team won its quarterfinal match against Nigeria 88-74 on Wednesday and is looking to secure a place in the gold medal game at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris with a win over Australia in the semifinals on August 9.
Australia defeated Serbia 85-67 in the quarterfinals.
The U.S. team is seeking its eighth consecutive gold medal after winning the gold medal at every Olympic Games since 1996. WNBA stars on the team include Diana Taurasi, Brittney Griner, Breanna Stewart, A’ja Wilson and Sabrina Ionescu.
