ABC’s new medical procedural puts a twist on the typical procedure, moving the drama from the hospital to the infirmary in “Doctor Odyssey.” The hour-long series from “9-1-1” EP Ryan Murphy stars Joshua Jackson (“Dawson’s Creek,” “The Affair”) as Max, the new on-board doctor on a luxury cruise ship where it is his job to look after his patients and to keep the dream holiday mood alive.

“Miami Vice” and “Rebel Ridge” star Don Johnson is also on board as Captain Robert Massey, alongside a cast that includes Phillipa Soo (“Hamilton”) and Sean Teale (“Mother of the Bride”) – with one Series of guest stars also includes country legend Shania Twain.

“Doctor Odyssey” premieres its pilot episode on Thursday, September 26 at 9:00 p.m. on ABC

The premiere will also have several repeats after the original broadcast date:

• Friday, September 27th at 8:00 p.m

• Sunday, September 29th at 10:00 p.m

• Wed, Oct. 2, 10:00 p.m

When will new “Doctor Odyssey” episodes air?

New episodes air in the regular time slot on Thursdays from 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. following new episodes of “9-1-1.”

  • Plastic Surgery Week on the Odyssey brings new faces and fresh features that require careful care by the medical team. Meanwhile, when the owner’s wife comes aboard, Captain Massey must combine charm and clever evasion to avoid her advances.
