PlayStation 5 Pro will be released on November 7th, but pre-orders are open now for people in the US and UK. The PS Direct storefront opened for pre-orders at 10:00 a.m. EDT. So if you find yourself in a queue while logging into the site, stay in the queue as there is a lot of traffic and you don’t want to lose your money.

Other retailers have set up their landing pages, but the unreleased PlayStation 5 Pro console is still marked as “coming soon.” Retailers including Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy and Target will reportedly open pre-orders later on October 10th.

The PS5 Pro console is available to pre-order from PS Direct for $700 and will be priced at the same price at other major retailers.

PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection

In addition to the standard white and black PS5, Sony has announced a chic limited edition collection in honor of the original PlayStation’s 30th anniversary – with the retro gray colors inspired by Sony’s first console. I call it “the coolest PlayStation console that has ever looked.” Included are a DualSense controller, the improved DualSense Edge controller and the PlayStation Portal handheld – all with the PS1 aesthetic to match.

Pre-orders for the PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection are also available from PS Direct. There are many customers queuing up on the website to place their pre-orders. So if you are in the queue, you should wait a moment. Waiting times can be over an hour. The price of the collection is set at $1,000.

The 30th Anniversary Edition of the PS5 Pro console cannot be purchased individually outside of the bundle. However, DualSense ($80), Dual Sense Edge ($220), and PlayStation Portal ($220) can each be pre-ordered individually.

The retro color scheme isn’t just on the Pro. The Digital Edition PlayStation 5 also has the cool new livery (or I guess the old livery) and is available to pre-order from PS Direct for $500.

Improvements to the PS5 Pro

The Pro version of the Sony PlayStation 5 features a larger GPU, new SSR AI-based upscaling, advanced ray tracing and a 2TB SSD (with expandable storage). Players can expect higher frame rates and better detail in fidelity and performance modes in the games that offer them.

If you waited too long to access the PS Direct website or were simply defeated by the bots that have probably taken over the entire stock, you have a second chance to get the PlayStation 5 Pro and all versions for the 30th anniversary. Year anniversary can be pre-ordered and accessories. Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy and Target will all open pre-orders on October 10th.
