The spy thriller Ulajh hit theaters on August 2nd. The film stars Janhvi Kapoor in the role of IFS officer Suhana Bhatia, a determined young diplomat who navigates a complex web of international intrigue and political conspiracies. The film also stars Gulshan Devaiah, Roshan Mathew, Rajesh Tailang, Meiyang Chang, Jitendra Joshi and others Adil Hussain in key roles.

Eight weeks after its theatrical release, Ulajh began streaming on Netflix on September 27th. The OTT giant took to its social media channels and shared the announcement poster with the caption, “In a world where every word is a lie and every step is a risk.”, how far will it go in the search for the truth ? According to entertainment tracking portal Sacnilk, the film performed poorly at the box office as it grossed just Rs 8.70 million nett in India and grossed Rs 11.25 million worldwide in its theatrical release. However, since its OTT release, Ulajh is receiving good reviews from the audience.

While a user of Despite a few missteps, another posted, “Just watched #Ulajh and will never underestimate Janhvi Kapoor again.” The last line was good. “With the music punctuating the scene, it was definitely a good watch.”

Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Sudhanshu Saria, the film is written by Sudhanshu and Parveez Shaikh and has dialogues by Atika Chauhan. Ulajh is produced by Junglee Pictures. The action sequences in the film were intelligently choreographed by international stunt director Nick Powell, who has worked on famous Hollywood films such as The Bourne Identity, Gladiator, The Last Samurai and others.

Ulajh lost out at the box office to Ajay Devgn and the taboo romantic drama Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha in the lead role, which was also a huge success at the box office. On the same day as Ulajh, on September 27, eight weeks after its theatrical release, the Neeraj Pandey directorial also began streaming on Prime Video.
