What’s happening with Ford Motor stock today? – Ford Motor (NYSE:F)

Ford Motor Company F is reportedly recalling around 85,000 Explorer SUVs with the Police Interceptor Utility package due to concerns about the possibility of engine fires.

According to Reuters, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration stated that if an engine failure occurs, engine oil and fuel could enter the engine compartment and accumulate near ignition sources such as hot engine or exhaust components, potentially causing a fire.

The recall includes 2020-2022 model year SUVs equipped with 3.3-liter hybrid and gasoline engines.

According to Benzinga Pro, F stock has lost over 12% in the past year. Investors can participate in the stock via First Trust Nasdaq Transportation ETF FTXR.

Earlier this week, the company recalled 37,371 vehicles, including the all-electric Mustang Mach-E SUV, over concerns that the windshield wipers could fail.

The entire recall includes several Ford Maverick vehicles (2023-2024), Ford Bronco Sport (2023), and Mustang Mach-E SUVs (2023). In some of these vehicles, the front windshield wiper motors may fail, causing the wipers to fail, reducing visibility under certain conditions, and increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford dealers will inspect and replace the wiper motors if necessary at no charge, the U.S. auto safety agency added, but the company is not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries related to the condition.

Price promotion: F shares traded 0.68% lower at $10.39 at last check on Friday.
