What you should consider for Part 2

Emily in Paris Season 4 is back with five new episodes that include a reprieve for Emily in Rome.

Part 1 included plenty of recovery from the explosive ending to the Netflix series’ third season, as the ensemble cast adjusts to new dynamics. The drama was summed up in Timothée’s (Victor Meutelet) TikTok. Part 1 of season 4 kicked off on Thursday, August 15, after a blush-pink carpet premiere at the Egyptian Theater in Los Angeles.

For those who need a summary of Emily in Paris Season 4, Part 1. Below is a summary of the main plot points from the first five episodes.

Emily, Alfie and Gabriel have recovered from the wedding disaster

The love triangle between Emily Cooper (Lily Collins), Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) and Alfie (Lucien Laviscount) took on a different dimension after Camille’s (Camille Razat) confession at her engagement party, which turned into her wedding to Gabriel in season 3. She pointed out that Emily and Gabriel still had feelings for each other and that she therefore could not marry Gabriel.

After the wedding was called off, Gabriel told Emily that Camille was pregnant with his child. Despite their separation, Gabriel wants to be part of the baby’s life, so he and Camille remain close, but Emily is the only one who knows that Camille has actually fallen in love with a woman named Sofia Sideris (Melia Kreiling).

Another loose thread Emily needs to tie up concerns her relationship with Alfie. He needed space after the news Camille dropped at the wedding, but he and Emily were still the faces of an Ami advert featuring hot air balloons. The Ami boss wants Alfie and Emily to appear at the French Open at Roland Garros, where they plan to show an advert, and Emily has been convincing Alfie to come. At first it seemed like Alfie was getting back together, but he couldn’t get over what happened after they shared a goodbye kiss on the bisous cam.

Mindy and Co. were nominated for the Eurovision Song Contest

Benoit (Kevin Dias) came to Mindy (Ashley Park) at the end of season three to tell her that his song “Mon Soleil,” which he wrote for her, was selected for the Eurovision Song Contest. So they go to an official to find out the contest rules. They have to set up their own budget for the song contest.

Mindy overheard Louis, the father of her new boyfriend Nicolas de Leon, criticizing her previous attire at an event, after which Nicolas chose Mindy’s pink couture outfit to cover her up. She scolded him for not standing up to his father and told him that she would dress however she wanted. She later sold the couture outfit to raise money for the Eurovision Song Contest.

Camille was missing

Camille ran off without telling anyone where she was going and her parents called Gabriel and were completely freaked out. Emily first thought Camille had gone to Greece to be with Sofia, but later found her in Giverny “cleaning the water lilies,” which is what volunteers do who go out on the pond in boats. Emily confronted Camille about everything she said and accused her of running away without telling her the whole story.

Emily and Mindy had contacted Sofia about Camille’s whereabouts, she came back to Paris to see them. She also spoke to Gabriel, who had to get used to the news of her interference in her life. Camille and Sofia end up staying in Gabriel’s apartment.

Julien started working at JVMA

Julien (Samuel Arnold) was already upset with Emily last season for interfering in his clients’ advertising, and her involvement in the Ami advertising after her split from Alfie led him to work for JVMA, who made him an offer at the end of season 3. He accepted the offer at the tennis match, and Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) made it hers because Louis also wanted to invest in a Laurent G club in Paris.

Sylvie commented on Louis de Léon

A journalist from The World contacted Sylvie several times about a story she wanted to write about Louis de Léon. Sylvie had tried to get on good terms with the JVMA millionaire before the opening of her husband’s club, but after hearing about Emily through Mindy, who was told by some employees at JVMA that she should never go into the brand closet alone, Sylvie plucked up the courage to tell her side of the story.

The story came out on the night of the Heartbreak Ball, which was to mark the launch of a Baccarat perfume that Antoine wanted to sell.

The masked ball

Emily and Gabriel finally met at the masquerade ball, but Alfie also went to try and win Emily back after Camille implied that he still could because Emily hadn’t gotten together with Gabriel yet. Alfie had previously confronted Gabriel about his feelings for Emily, but that was before Gabriel knew about Sofia.

Alfie kissed a woman working on the perfume campaign because she dressed the same as Emily, but then he watched her leave with Gabriel, who had their own romantic carriage ride, but not quite Bridgerton Level.

Laurent G Club Opening

After Sylvie spoke about Louis de Léon’s past, JVMA withdrew its funding from Laurent’s (Arnaud Binard) Paris club, so Sylvie asked her mother (Liliane Rovère) for help. Her mother was formerly known as La Reine de la Nuit, which concerned her nightclub activities.

Gregory Dupree (Jeremy O’Harris), who replaced Pierre Cadault, returned with his outrageous fashion designs, including penis pants originally designed for JVMA in connection with the Louis de Léon scandal. His project was scrapped by the company and he brought the models to the club instead.

Camille is not pregnant

When Camille went to see a gynecologist because of her spotting, she discovered that she was not pregnant. The photo of her sadly smoking with her friend in a restaurant confirmed this. She wanted to tell Gabriel about the false pregnancy, but that was the only thing that kept her together.

Gabriel’s chances of a Michelin star went up in smoke

Unfortunately, Luc’s (Bruno Gouery) girlfriend Marianne (Laurence Gormeazano) was not who she claimed to be, and a fellow Michelin inspector revealed that she had been fired from the company due to insider knowledge. This happened when she organized a reservation for Sylvie’s anniversary dinner with Laurent so that Luc (who was originally tasked with finding a way into the prestigious restaurant) could ask for a raise.

This means that Gabriel’s star isn’t really in the works, as Marianne isn’t a real restaurant critic. She actually works at the phone company. This and Camille’s fake pregnancy were shown in the episode titled Trompe L’Oeuil, which means optical illusion in French.
