USWNT and US men’s basketball win gold in Paris
Mallory Swanson scored a goal in the 57th minute to lead the USWNT to gold, while Steph Curry and Co. defeated France on their home court to take the overall victory.
The US women’s basketball team is just one win away from its eighth consecutive Olympic gold medal. France stands in the Americans’ way.
Team USA will face the host nation in the gold medal game on Sunday at Bercy Arena. The U.S. women’s basketball team hasn’t lost an Olympic game since 1992. The U.S. women’s volleyball team will also seek gold for the second consecutive year in a gold medal game against Italy. Meanwhile, the U.S. water polo team will try to win bronze in a match against Hungary.
