Channing Tatum is finally taking on the role of Gambit in Deadpool & Wolverine and fans, myself included, are thrilled. It’s one of the best “cameos” in the film and his performance is being praised all over social media. I would love to see Channing return as Gambit, but it’s hard to say when a Gambit movie would fit into the MCU’s plans. After just this little taste of him, I can’t imagine anyone else in the role. He nailed the accent and looked incredible in the costume – not to mention the amazing action sequences. If he doesn’t get his own movie, I hope he shows up in movies like Avengers vs. X-Men at some point (whenever we get him).

Jake Gyllenhaal is one of the most popular actors of his generation and has been since his early twenties thanks to films like Donnie Darko. Although Gyllenhaal has performed in several genres with great success, he seems to shine brightest in thriller films. This is especially true of 2014’s Nightcrawler, in which Gyllenhaal delivers his best performance. The film is incredibly intense and suspenseful and Gyllenhaal has proven that he can play a psychopath brilliantly.

After the huge success of Captain Marvel, the sequel The Marvels was a disappointment at the box office. Reviews were mixed, but I think it’s worth watching. The film is under two hours long, so it’s easy and entertaining to watch. Brie Larson, Iman Vellani, and Teyonah Parris have great chemistry and it was fun to see all of their characters come together after WandaVision and Ms. Marvel. I also thought the visual effects of their powers worked really well, unlike some other recent superhero movies.

As development continues on the Marvel Cinematic Universe-set reboot of the X-Men franchise, fans continue to voice their favorites for who should play the iconic mutant superhero team, including Rogue. While some people are leaning toward Jenna Ortega or Millie Bobby Brown for the role, I would personally be excited to see McKenna Grace’s take on the character, as she has not only shown incredible acting range in the recent Ghostbusters films and A Friend of the Family, but also portrays an interesting mix of introverted and extroverted personalities in her characters, which I think would be a perfect fit for Rogue. Additionally, since the MCU has recast actors in the past, Grace’s previous role as young Carol Danvers could easily be a non-issue.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is just around the corner, and all eyes are on the impending arrival of Shadow the Hedgehog, who will be voiced by Keanu Reeves. However, there are a number of actors whose roles have not yet been confirmed, as well as a number of game characters who have not yet appeared in the franchise. Personally, I hope Amy shows up to see how the filmmakers handle this dynamic, and the already-cast Krysten Ritter could be an interesting take on the character.

The live-action adaptation of Harold and the Purple Crayon is officially a box office flop, having grossed just $9 million in its worldwide release. Oddly enough, it has a strong audience rating of 92% on Rotten Tomatoes, compared to just 25% from critics. Critics have called it bleak and boring, but audiences overwhelmingly see it as an entertaining family film. Unfortunately, it competes with the box office smash Inside Out 2. Sony probably would have been better off releasing Harold and the Purple Crayon in the winter, as it’s an odd choice for a summer film.
