Last week, Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested and charged with sex trafficking. In the wake of his arraignment, rumors and speculation have swirled about many of his relationships with other celebrities – including his late ex-girlfriend Kim Porter. Porter was found unconscious in her San Fernando Valley home in 2018. At the time, the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office listed the cause of death as pneumonia – but questions about the circumstances of her death reached a fever pitch this week when Porter’s ex, Al B. Sure! (given name Albert Joseph Brown), claimed in a series of Instagram posts on Monday that she was the victim of a “tragic murder.” Now, Diddy and Porter’s four children have issued a statement condemning the “horrific conspiracy theories” surrounding their mother’s life and death.

In his posts, Brown also claimed that “a whole group of individuals who worked in or around the (Porter) residence” had conspired to prevent the publication of Porter’s memoirs – which he said were different from another recent book purporting to be Porter’s “memoir.” That book – titled KIM’S LOST WORDS: A journey for justice, from the other side, from Jamal T. Millwood — is currently available on Amazon and reportedly contains details about the alleged orgies and multi-day “freak offs” that Diddy has hosted over the years. According to the Daily MailMillwood is a pseudonym of Los Angeles-based producer Chris Todd, who apparently told the tabloid that Porter passed a USB stick of her lyrics to several friends, which he obtained, edited and published. Brown called Todd’s book “made-up nonsense and offensive pages.” (For what it’s worth, according to Rolling StoneTodd himself says he cannot guarantee the authenticity of the book.)

Now Porter’s children claim that there was never a book: “Claims that our mother wrote a book are simply false. She did not. And anyone claiming to have a manuscript is misrepresenting themselves,” they wrote in a statement posted on Instagram on Tuesday. “Please understand that any so-called ‘friend’ speaking on behalf of our mother or her family is not a friend. Nor does they have their best interests at heart.” Diddy’s lawyer Erica Wolf also said she had pleaded guilty. told People that Amazon’s memoirs were “fake,” “insulting,” and “a shameless attempt to profit from a tragedy.”

The children — 26-year-old Christian Combs, 17-year-old twins Jessie and D’Lila Combs, and 33-year-old Quincy Taylor Brown (Brown’s biological son, whom Diddy adopted after he got together with Porter in 2003) — also reiterated that their mother died of natural causes. “While it has been incredibly difficult to understand how she could have been taken from us so young, the cause of death has long been determined,” they wrote. “There was no foul play.” They captioned the post, “We love you mom 🕊️💜.”

The statement did not address the charges against Diddy, who is currently being held without bail at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center. Instead, they asked for peace and respect for their mother as they continue to “cope with her loss every day.” “We are deeply saddened that the world has made a spectacle out of the most tragic event of our lives,” they concluded. “Our mother should be remembered as the beautiful, strong, kind and loving woman she was. Her memory should not be tainted by horrific conspiracy theories.”
