Neither rider finished on the podium at Silverstone, with Bagnaia’s fellow Italian and Ducati rider Enea Bastianini winning his first race of the season.

With his second place, Martin is back ahead of Bagnaia with 241 points, although there are still 10 races left this season. The Spaniard will certainly be hoping to extend this narrow lead later at the Red Bull Ring. Bagnaia has already won six races in 2024, but is still just behind Martin in the championship fight.

Until then, Aragon is the third-to-last European race of the summer, followed by the San Marino and Emilia Romagna Grands Prix.
