Weekend shuttle service launched in Snoqualmie Valley

Snoqualmie Valley Transportation’s Valley Shuttle runs every 90 minutes from 6:00 a.m. to 9:15 p.m.

After 21 years of offering scheduled bus service from North Bend to Duvall, Snoqualmie Valley Transportation (SVT) announced it will begin operating service on weekends beginning August 17.

“Expanding weekend bus service is a critical step in improving accessibility and promoting sustainable tourism in our valley,” said Kelly Coughlin, CEO of the SnoValley Chamber of Commerce. “Not only will this service support local businesses, but it will ensure that visitors and residents alike can enjoy our beautiful region while contributing to a greener and more environmentally friendly community.”

Weekend service will run Saturdays and Sundays from 6 a.m. to 9:15 p.m., with buses arriving every 90 minutes, according to the city of North Bend.

The Valley Shuttle, which carries passengers between North Bend and Duvall, is funded by King County Metro, the Snoqualmie Tribe, the Washington Department of Transportation, rider donations and receives funding from Washington State’s Climate Commitment Act.

“King County Metro is responsible for funding this particular portion of the new weekend service and we are very grateful that they are responding to this need,” said SVT Director Amy Biggs. “People need to get to their jobs on the weekend or ride our small SVT buses to work during the week, but need service on the weekend for grocery shopping and all their errands. Transportation is a basic need for everyone, not just on weekdays.”

According to the agency, SVT offered nearly 12,000 rides for local residents in 2023 alone. The weekend service is expected to significantly increase ridership.

Shuttle fare is just a suggested donation of $1 per ride. Each bus is equipped with wheelchair lifts and bike racks, and those under 18 ride free.
