Hard work doesn’t seem to be as valued as it once was. When we were growing up, our parents would clock in eight hours a day, do productive work and contribute to the companies we worked for. Then it was time to clock out and they would go home to their loving families after a hard day at the office. We were greeted with a warm hug and our parents were relieved of their work stress.

Some Vegas Golden Knights stars would love to show their fans their hard work and dedication. These include Brendan Brisson, Trevor Connelly and Pavel Dorofeyev, young players who are growing up within the franchise. They are good scorers, developing into prominent roles and becoming valuable players for Vegas.

But that’s not all. The team wants the Stanley Cup back after a rough exit in the Stanley Cup playoffs last season. Surely Mark Stone and Jack Eichel would love to lift Lord Stanley once again and add another title to their collection. They are not alone, as fans want to taste the glory once again.

What does hard work mean to the Golden Knights? Is it taking an opportunity and becoming a better player than before? Maybe it’s getting into the starting lineup and carrying the momentum from the short amount of time in the NHL. Either way, the new NHL season offers hard-working players a chance to show what they can do.

Last season, Pavel Dorofeyev scored 13 goals and had 11 assists in 47 games for the Vegas Golden Knights. He took a big step in his development and will likely be rewarded with a top-six position as a forward. For Dorofeyev, hard work means building on last season’s successes and taking the next step. You can’t rest on your laurels when you can play alongside Jack Eichel, you know.

Brendan Brisson saw limited playing time with the Golden Knights, playing 15 games at the NHL level, including a solid start on the first line, where he performed well. He scored two goals and added six assists during that time, making him a useful player when the team was plagued by injuries. For Brisson, hard work means laying the groundwork for a better foundation and developing into a reliable player for Vegas’ future.

The definition of hard work varies from player to player and is interpreted differently depending on the needs of each player. Whether it’s a rookie making the NHL roster or a young winger growing within the organization, hard work will be a key phrase for the Golden Knights this season. It could also be the key to winning another Stanley Cup. After all, no one has ever won anything by putting in minimal effort.
