Big Machine Music City Grand Prix officials have issued a weather update for Sunday’s NTT IndyCar race at Nashville Superspeedway.

Qualifying and practice for the fourth annual race are scheduled for Saturday, while the 207-lap race at the Lebanon track is scheduled for Sunday (2:25 p.m. CT, NBC and Peacock).

According to the Weather Channel, rain is forecast as the remnants of Hurricane Francine hit the Middle Tennessee region.

On Saturday the probability of precipitation is 62%. On Sunday the probability drops to 24%.

Music City Grand Prix CEO Scott Borchetta said in a social media post that officials will keep fans updated on track plans throughout the day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

IndyCar officials are determined to hold the race, even if that would mean postponing it to Monday or later, as it now serves as the season finale.

The 2022 Music City Grand Prix, held on the streets of downtown Nashville, was postponed for two hours on race day due to lightning strikes in the area.
