Weather-related interruption of the football game Florida vs. Texas A&M

The game was officially postponed to 4:30 p.m.

GAINESVILLE, Florida. The Florida vs. Texas A&M football game was postponed at 4:30 p.m. due to weather-related lightning in the area.

Fans present are asked to seek shelter.

Fans will be permitted to exit the stadium and use their mobile ticket for re-entry once play resumes. Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center will be available for sheltering fans.

According to the Southeastern Conference severe weather policy, game officials will be notified when severe weather or lightning is detected in the area within 15 miles of the stadium. If lightning is then detected within 8 miles of the stadium, play will resume (delayed or suspended). Contesting may resume after 30 minutes if no lightning strikes are detected within the 8-mile radius. Each time lightning strikes, the 30-minute clock will be reset. A 10-minute warm-up period may be allowed after the 30-minute suspension.

Updates to the event schedule will be announced over the public address system and GatorVision boards, and will also be posted on FloridaGators.com and social media.
