The unsettled weather continues on Friday …

TODAY: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies are expected in Las Vegas, with highs of around 42 degrees. Scattered thunderstorms are possible this afternoon, favoring development in the mountains. There is a chance that one of these thunderstorms will move into the valley, but the worst of the weather will again be in Arizona. The biggest weather hazards continue to be heavy downpours from storms, strong winds and frequent lightning.

Air quality is rated “good” this morning and pollen levels are “low.” This may change as strong winds from collapsing storms carry dust back into Southern Nevada.

TONIGHT: Skies will be mostly clear tonight with the possibility of isolated thunderstorms. Lows in the valley will be around 90 degrees. A breeze will be blowing from the south at up to 10 mph, but may pick up with downdrafts from thunderstorms.

YOUR 7TH DAYS: Storm chances continue this weekend, with the stormiest weather expected on Saturday. Slight storm chances remain on Sunday, with breezes increasing. Winds will continue into early next week, with highs slowly declining in the valley. A storm system moving west will locally increase winds, leading to falling temperatures.

There’s still a lot of uncertainty beyond the 7 days, but another system could bring winds back to the region and temperatures could drop into double digits by NEXT Sunday. A LOT can change between now and then…but stick around for more updates!

The last time Las Vegas experienced double-digit high temperatures was on June 19, when the official high was 99 degrees.
