WHAT TO EXPECT
Tuesday will be warm and humid once again, with highs in the 90s. We’ll have a southwest wind of 10 to 15 mph, with gusts around 25 mph. Scattered rain and thunderstorms will develop this afternoon, with conditions improving after sunset.
Tonight we will have isolated rain and thunderstorms with a warm low of 20 degrees.
OUTLOOK
A cold front moves in on Wednesday, bringing rain and thunderstorms throughout the day and cooler temperatures of 24 degrees. The WVLT First Alert Weather Day begins with the threat of chaotic commuter traffic Wednesday evening.
Thursday and Friday are WVLT First Weather Alert days as tropical rains look to develop in our area through the end of the week. This adds up to 3 to 5 inches of rainfall in our area, with some areas getting 7 inches total. This can cause landslides. Roads are likely to become muddy, with standing water and hydroplaning risks. We will have stronger gusts near 40 mph as the remnants of what will likely become a hurricane move across our area Thursday night into Friday.
