FORECAST

Good morning! Soak it in. It feels AMAZING! This is the coolest morning since late May. Of course, all good things must come to an end. Warmer weather is on the way, including this afternoon, with temperatures above 30 degrees. Skies will be sunny.

The other big story is what’s happening in the Gulf of Mexico. There, severe weather is developing quite quickly, and what is being called a “potential Tropical Cyclone 6” will likely become Tropical Storm Francine later today. The system will move north toward the Rio Grande Valley tomorrow and stay just offshore. Heavy rain is expected along the immediate coast of places like Brownsville and South Padre Island. From there, the storm will move northeast, just brushing the Texas coast. It is expected to become a hurricane and move toward Louisiana. The impact on San Antonio will be minimal. if at all. At this point, the only chance of rain is in the forecast for Tuesday evening through Wednesday. This activity would be isolated and light. Heavier rain is expected along the immediate coast Monday through Wednesday.

Humidity will gradually increase this week, meaning our cool mornings will come to an end. Partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the 30s will be the norm from Tuesday into the weekend. We’ll have a chance of rain towards the end of the weekend and early next week – this time thanks to tropical humidity in the Pacific.
