Four-seater turns are always a pleasure The voiceAnd not just because you get to see the coaches argue their arguments (with often hilarious results), but because you see the sheer power of an up-and-coming talent meeting a group of recording legends who are all equally excited.

One of these moments occurred in Episode 2 of The voice Season 26 on Monday night when a young man named Tanner Frick took the stage for his blind audition and the coaches vied for his attention.

Frick, a Mississippi-born maintenance foreman living in Tennessee, spends his days working hard and risking life and limb, and his evenings playing wherever people are willing to listen. Frick was raised by a single father who was initially unsure of his musical ambitions. He’s steadily made a name for himself and proven himself, and now he’s here The voice Stage. To familiarize himself with the show’s history, he followed Episode 1 contestant Kendall Eugene’s lead and chose a song by the former Agree Contestant Morgan Wallen: “I thought you should know.”

“I chose this song because it’s very inspiring that he started here and now you look at him, he’s one of the greatest country artists in the world,” Frick said of Wallen. “If he can do it, anyone can.”

When it was time for Frick to take the stage, the 26-year-old singer reflected on everything that led him to this moment and hoped for the best.

“The hand I was dealt in life is not the best,” Frick said. “I would like to stop physical work and do what I love. Maybe I can make something of myself.”

Some Agree Contestants have to wait an entire song for the chairs to turn, but for Frick it didn’t take nearly as long. He had barely started the first chorus when the chairs started turning, starting with Snoop Dogg and within seconds moving on to Reba McEntire. When the performance ended, Coach Snoop made sure the world knew he was the first to turn around and hit Frick head-on.

“While you were all still turning around, it was me into it that,” Snoop said.

Then it was time to praise Frick’s voice, starting with coach Gwen Stefani, who was nervous about even trying to compete for the country artist’s talents.

“Your uniqueness came through,” Stefani said, noticing that she had to turn her chair around, “Even though I knew Reba was sitting right here and I knew there was probably no chance in the world.”

Coach Michael Bublé did his best to convince Frick of his own country fan base and his relationship to the genre, and praised Frick’s role in country music.

“They represent so many great parts of the greatest gift America could ever have given to the arts, and that’s why I want to be a part of it,” Bublé said.

That’s when it became clear to everyone that McEntire hadn’t spoken up at all yet. Not that she needed it.

“Reba doesn’t even need to talk, she already knows she held him,” Snoop joked, prompting McEntire to finally join in.

“When you did that Chris Stapleton growl, it just added so much dimension to your voice,” McEntire said.

And it turned out that was enough. While the other coaches tried to make their case – from Stefani, who said she was “desperate” for Frick, to Bublé, who noted that he wrote Blake Shelton’s first big country hit – Frick chose to be the time had come for McEntire.

“Oh my God, winning a four-chair, hell yeah, that’s an amazing feeling,” McEntire said after welcoming Frick to her team. “Tanner had a great style, the rasp in his voice, it’s sexy, it’s country. The other trainers can try, but I’m country and Tanner’s country, so it makes perfect sense for him to go with me. “Right?”
